 Monday 3rd April

Recycling Workshop with Pat

Our member Pat brought lots of plastic bags, fruit and veg nets sweet wrappers, twine and anything else she could think of to inspire us in our quest to recycle

She started by showing us some of the many things she has made by recycling so many of the things that just get thrown away when they can keep us happy for hour reusing them in some other way.

The first item was a large patchwork sheet.  Pat had made rectangles of ‘pieces’ that had been captured between two sheets of plastic by machining them together, they were then joined to make a large colourful sheet.

We also saw a lovely piece that was cut from old socks knitted by her mother and embroidered to make an imaginative spray of flowers. (Below)

using lots of scraps of fabric in shades of grays, cream and white with pink machining

We all enjoyed making our own individual pieces and went home feeling happy with what we had achieved.

Here's a piece we made on Monday
